DRUG AWARENESS
To assist in the control of drug abuse through volunteer work and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The goal of the program is prevention, to stop drug use before it starts by educating youth, fourth through ninth grades, about the adverse effects of marijuana, cocaine and alcohol, the
“gateway drugs” most prevalent among youth. The program is designed to reach youth directly and through the adults that influence them, their parents and teachers.

YOUTH CAMP MAINTENANCE
The Youth Camp Maintenance Committee is responsible to the Virginia Elks Association for insuring that the Virginia Elks Youth Camp property is maintained in an operational state of readiness. In performing that duty, the Committee assigns projects to member Lodges for the repair and maintenance of cabins, grounds and equipment, and coordinates maintenance activities with the Camping Director.
